A MAN’S CAPACITY TO BE A FATHER ORIGINATED IN THE FATHER HEART OF GOD
Ephesians 3:14-15…”For this reason I kneel before the Father from whom all fatherhood in heaven and earth derives its name”
GOD TELLS US THAT WE ARE MADE IN HIS IMAGE AND LIKENESS
Genesis 5:1-3…”When God created man, he made him in the likeness of God.
He created them male and female; at the time they were created, he blessed them.
When Adam lived 130 years he had a son in his own likeness, in his own image and he named him Seth.”
GOD DESIGNED AND ENSCRIBED ON EVERY MAN’S MALE IDENTITY THE CAPACITY AND LONGING TO BE A FATHER WHICH IS ONE OF THE WAYS A MAN IS ABLE TO REFLECT AND REVEAL THE IMAGE AND LIKENESS OF GOD’S HEART AS A FATHER.
ONE OF THE MOST MEANINGFUL WAYS GOD THE FATHER REVEALED HIS HEART WERE THE TWO TIMES HE HELD HIS SON IN HIS HEART AND BLESSED HIM.
Jesus Baptism: Matthew 3:16-17
As soon as Jesus was baptized, he went up out of the water.
At that moment heaven was opened, and he saw the Spirit of God descending like a dove and lighting on him. And a voice from heaven said, this is my Son, whom I love; with him I am well pleased.
Jesus Transfiguration: Matthew 17:5
"While he was still speaking, a bright cloud enveloped them, and a voice from the cloud said, this is my Son, whom I love; with him I am well pleased. Listen to him!”
Peters Witness of the Fathers blessing of his Son, Jesus. 2 Peter 1:16-18
We were eyewitnesses of his majesty. For he received honor and glory from God the Father when a voice came from the Majestic Glory, saying,” This is my Son, whom I love; with him I am pleased.” We ourselves heard this voice that came from heaven when we were with him on the sacred mountain.”
GOD THE FATHER MODELS FOR US AS FATHERS THREE POWERFUL BLESSINGS:
You are my Son…Blessing of Identity
Whom I love…Blessing of Affection
In whom I am well pleased…Blessing of Affirmation
THE SIGNIFICANCE OF BLESSING OUR SONS AND DAUGHTERS IS STATED CLEARLY IN MALACHI 4:5-6
“See I will send you the prophet Elijah before that great and dreadful day of the LORD comes. He will turn the hearts of the fathers to their children, and the hearts of the children to their fathers; or else I will strike the land with a curse.”
THIS PROPHECY WAS FULFILLED 400 YEARS LATER IN LUKE 1:17:
“And he (John the Baptist) will go on before the Lord, in the spirit and power of Elijah, to turn the hearts of the fathers to their children…to make ready a people prepared for the Lord. ``
GOD THE FATHER HAS DESIGNED IN THE SPIRITUAL DNA OF EVERY SON AND DAUGHTERS HEART THE LONGING TO BE HELD IN THEIR FATHERS HEART.
ONE OF THE GREATEST PRIVILEDGES AND RESPONSIBLITIES WE AS FATHERS HAVE IS TO REVEAL THE FATHER HEART OF GOD TO OUR CHILDREN.
