Meals and Necessities for Women through Abbotsford Women’s Resource Centre

We have an opportunity to show love and compassion in practical ways to some of the most needy women in our community. Women from our church provide hot meals for street-entrenched women who attend a drop-in at the Abbotsford Women’s Resource Centre.

We also help provide other basic necessities like toiletries and clothing. Following is a list of suggested donations which can be dropped off in the bins available in the foyer, or at Connecting Points or Evening Edition. Personal Items and Toiletries:
• Brushes, combs
• Small towels, face cloths
• Toothbrushes, toothpaste, dental floss
• Tampons, pads
• Nail clippers, emery boards
• Shampoo, conditioner, hair product (regular and travel-size)
• Make up, face cream, body lotion
• Soap, bubble bath
• Small deodorant
• Disposable razors

Food:
• Individual yogurt and fruit cups
• Canned meat, tuna, salmon,
• Peanut butter
• Homemade jam
• Milk
• Boost and Ensure
• Juice (jugs or juice boxes)
• Coffee and tea
• Sugar
• Fresh produce
• Canned pork and beans
• Canned soup
• Granola bars

Women’s Clothing:
• Clothing for all seasons
• Maternity clothes
• New underwear
• Runners and other shoes, socks
• Jackets
• Gloves and scarves
• Tights
• Slippers
• Belts and purses
• Small backpacks

Camping equipment:
• Sleeping bags and mats
• Tents and tarps

Other:
• Laundry soap and fabric softener
• Plastic containers with lids, zip-lock bags
• Notebooks, pens
• Arts and craft items (beads, yarn, pencils, crayons, glue, paints, canvasses, etc.)

You can put your donated items in the basket on the shelf by the Information Wall.

Cook Day Donations:
If you would like to donate meat or other supplies needed for our cook days, please email Norma Neufeld or call her at 604-850-9390.

Financial Donations:
If you would like to designate a financial gift to this ministry, please mark “Women’s Resource Centre Project” on your offering envelope. Donations over $20 will be receipted.
